Overall from reviewing our first draft we then decided there were changes that should be made to improve the overall impact. Firstly we feel that with our opening we haven't stuck with the traditional conventions of the horror/thriller genre and due to this it can subconsciously subvert the audiences interpretation of the piece. This can be seen by looking at the use of credits by what font we have used and how they are integrated, which we feel breaks the tension created. For example the font would be suited if it was a typed font so that it was more consistent and didn't look like handwriting, as this may be seen as being more comical and can make the audience question the genre
Moreover from watching the first draft we feel that the opening lacks narrative which can leave the audience feeling like there is a lack of direction and hints on what the rest of the film maybe about. Overall from reviewing this we are going to change some of the shots to make it seem less comical and change the still of some of the integrated credits.
